Flight to Kansai International Airport (KIX)

It’s been two days since we were at Cibubur for Jamboree preparation. I came early than the other West Java Scout Contingent. That was the second time I went abroad. Although I was not a great person who could realize many things, but travelling around the world

was one of my dreams. That time, I went abroad as organizational member (but I’m not sure about that =D). We went to Japan as Indonesia Scout Contingent and as ITB Scout member. There was seven people (include me) who were joint as a WSJ ITB team. They were three ISTs and four scouts. The IST (International Service Team) consisted of Andi Kuswoyo (me) as ITB Scout Contingent Leader, Yani Mustikawati (Pembina Gudep 06006), Azkia Ibadina Shalihah (ITB Scout member) and the Scouts consisted of Muhammad Hafizhankarim Wachid, Muhammad Izzarrasyadi Wachid, Ayubella Anggraini Leksono and Nafisa Athiya Prabowo.

One of us, Yani, never gone abroad before. So it’s her first time to go abroad and also first time to travel by plane. In my mind, I thought that “I am a bit proud of myself, because I can persuade the beginner” (kidding). Also I could bring the ITB Scout to the world level, but it’s heavy to do and heavy to carry the responsibility. Many challenges and obstacles that we should face. But let’s forget it for a moment.

Back to the main story at 24th July 2015. We were released by President of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo in the National Palace. That morning, the ISTs were confused about the time of our flight. Was it because the ISTs had been of age, so we should find out ourselves, or there’s unorganized things. But in my opinion, there’s a communication problems and no tactical action from the organizer (Kwarnas and the committee). It was poor management and organizing for the Jamboree preparation. What I saw there, was just Indonesia people habit when they were on trouble, they didn’t want to be in wrong. They would search the scapegoat. When we talked about the people badness, there’s no end. The conclusion which we could get was there is no preparation for IST and no one cared about the ISTs. So because all of ISTs had been aged, so there was just a short briefing after the Opening Ceremony for Indonesia Contingent to 23rd World Scout Jamboree at night on 23rd July 2015 (also that because we asked to be briefed before we left next day).

Indonesian IST was just 10 peoples which was consisted of 1 person from Banten (Untirta Scout), 2 persons from Center Java (UMS and Gontor Putri Scout) and 7 peoples from West Java (3 ITB, 3 Ksatria Usadhatama and 1 St. Aloysius). IST was the Racana member, Scout Master and Kwartir (Organizer). There was no fine coordination between IST and Indonesia Contingent committee, so some problem came out before we left to the airport. No tents, no exact time information and more trouble we got. But finally we passed that and left Cibubur after Jum’at pray. We went to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) at about 4 o’clock pm. Our flight was at 7.25 pm, but we should check in our baggage an hour before and avoided the traffic jam. It’s so much equipment should we brought, because our flight was together with the travel agent. Fortunately, we arrive so early and we had our time to take a break.

07.55 pm we had been in the cabin and prepare to flight, but you know, the airport was busy traffic, so we should wait about 20 minutes at the end of runway before take-off. Our flight was not a direct flight. We transited at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), Bali and continued the flight to the Japan. We arrived at Ngurah Rai International Airport about a half past eleven in the night (23.25 pm). It’s almost midnight. Bali Airport was a bit uncomfortable to transit. I needed a long walk to go to the International Departure, a little bit tired, but it’s interesting. It was my first time transit in Bali. The facilities of the airport was better than Husain Sastranegara International Airport (BDO) Bandung, although Bali Airport was in renovation when we were there. I think today will be better. =D. And the same problem as before we take-off from CGK, we should wait about 2 hours because the delay. It’s boring man. But it’s okay, we could have a little talk to make us chummy while we were waiting.

Finally we were leaving Indonesia at about 01.20 am. Our destination is Kansai International Airport (KIX) Japan. We left Indonesia for a moment, and come back later. I was mumbling (whispering) before I slept, “Sky, we meet again. I bring three people today and tomorrow will more. Now I am going to Japan, where is the next? I don’t know yet. But I’m sure I will meet you someday together with someone special in my life. I will show them the beautiful view from the 30.000 feet above the sea level”.

I should sleep well, because the next day I should enjoy Japan and forgot problems for a moment.
